lululemon brought me in to build and establish the product design (UX) team to support their e-commerce business. Before I joined, lululemon had operated without a dedicated team focused on their user experience. In my experience, teams need a consistent process to ensure repeatable results.
An aligned upon experience design process provides a framework for the product design team to execute their work. A defined process gives cross-functional teams visibility into how we’ll solve problems and frames expectations for results.
Process should guide exceptional work but not get in the way of results. As such, the experience design process I developed is implemented based on needs. Typically, 70%-80% of our defined process resulting in user-centric solutions that focused on anticipating needs and delivering best-in-class results.
